DVDs for sale before release date?

My local record store has DVDs for sale that aren't to be released for 3 more days. How can that be? I thought they were released on Tuesday so everyone put them up for sale on the same day. Is it up to retailers?DVDs for sale before release date?

All the major studios have a violation hotline, each studio has a different toll free number... you can find these numbers online...all the majors ie Wal Mart, Blockbuster, etc. recieve their dvds before the Tuesday release date however NOBODY is allowed to ';street'; prior to Tuesday PLEASE REPORT..

Some places get the DVDs weeks ahead of time, but they're not supposed to go on sale until the specified date. These retailers can get into trouble for doing this if reported, but that'd be gay.
