Because I've seen Wicked once (WHICH WAS FABULOUS!!!!) they had T.Vs around the lobby. So did they record it and had it on sale??
When you see Wicked do they have DVDs for sale in the lobby?
No, they do not record it and have it on sale. If someone records it, it is illegal. They normally have those TVs for promotional reasons (Legally Blonde has some clips always playing in the box office). When you see Wicked do they have DVDs for sale in the lobby?
I HAVE seen them selling DVDs from the merchandise booths - it's ';The Wizard of Oz'; tho, not Wicked the Musical.
They'll be playing the promotional material - there's usually about 5 minutes worth of clips of the show, but it depends on which show it is. It's the same shots that get used for TV clips or any other time they need to show footage of the show.
They do record the show. Each location has a recording they can use for promotional purposes. But these are not available. Beyond Idina's album and the OBC CD, they don't sell any media.
But if you want more, three extra things are available. The Original Stuttgart Cast recording. The Tokyo Cast Recording. And Wicked in Rock.
^No each location does not record the show. Where the hell do you get your information?
The producers aren't even allowed to record the entire show - they record 30 minutes of selected scenes to cut and edit into 30 second commercial ads. It's from the same reel for each commercial.
It would make no sense for the producers to sell the show on DVD. Think about it - would the average family of 4 rather spend 拢200 odd on tickets, plus travel expenses to see the show live if they could just buy a DVD and watch it at home? The magic of seeing it live is not enough to sway most people.
No...the theaters do not sell DVD's of he smash hit Wicked. All they sell are the original B-way cast album with Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth! The T.Vs are for people who arrive late so then can watch the show while waiting to be let in the theater.
Sorry!
